British soprano Stephanie Hershaw is a soloist ensemble member at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, where in the 2025/26 season she will reprise the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen and make several exciting role debuts, including Sophie in Werther, Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and Marie in Gurlitt’s Wozzeck. This season also marks her concert debut at Cadogan Hall with The Mozartists.

In the 2024/25 season, Stephanie appeared in a diverse range of roles at Oldenburg, including Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Romilda (Xerxes), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), and the Governess (The Turn of the Screw), alongside her acclaimed first portrayal of The Cunning Little Vixen.

She recently made her house debut at Garsington Opera as Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), and covered as well as performed the role of Susanna in Garsington’s OperaFirst production of Le nozze di Figaro with the Philharmonia Orchestra. Further expanding her international profile, Stephanie made both her house and role debut as Lenio in The Greek Passion with the Danish National Opera.

A dynamic and versatile performer, Stephanie recently stepped in at short notice for a performance of Xerxes at the Stadttheater Passau. She was also honoured with a Theaterpreis for her work at the Landestheater Detmold, where she was a member of the Opernstudio for two seasons. Additionally, she was invited to participate in the Neue Stimmen: Masterclass Series (2023/24). Stephanie was also selected as an Orpheus Foundation Artist 2024.
